New information about the sequel to the anime adaptation of the Made in Abyss manga has been released. Through the anime's official media, it was announced that the long-awaited continuation of the series, titled Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun – The Awakened Enigma, will premiere in Japan in 2026.
Additionally, it was revealed that the sequel will be a multi-part film series. Additionally, a visual image of the sequel was presented to the public, featuring two new characters: Tepaste and Cravagli. Recall that this anime sequel was announced in January 2023.
Made in Abyss will return in 2026 with a series of films.
But that's not all, as the official Made in Abyss anime media has announced the holding of a series of anime film concerts in Nakano ZERO, Tokyo. This special event will take place in Japan in February 2026.
Another highlight of these concerts is that Kevin Penkin, composer of the anime soundtrack, will conduct the orchestra, and vocalists Takeshi Saito and KIHOW (MYTH&ROID) have been confirmed to participate. The voice cast will also be present.
The production team for the anime sequel is as follows: Masayuki Kojima will return to direct. Animation studio Kinema Citrus will once again handle the anime's animation production. Hideyuki Kurata will also return to serve as series composition. Yuka Kuroda and Kazuchika Kise will return to serve as character designers.

Based on the manga by Akihito Tsukushi, the Made in Abyss anime premiered in Japan on July 7, 2017. The series consists of a total of two seasons (25 episodes) and two films. Currently, Made in Abyss is legally available in Latin America through the Netflix platform and has its respective Latin American dubbing.

Riko, daughter of the long-lost White Whistle Lyza the Annihilator, aspires to become like her mother and explore the far reaches of the Abyss. However, as she is only a fledgling Red Whistle, she is only allowed to explore its most superficial layer. Even so, Riko has a chance encounter with a mysterious robot that resembles a human boy. She names him Reg, and he has no memory of anything that happened before his discovery.
Convinced that the technology to create Reg must come from the depths of the Abyss, the two decide to venture into it to recover their memories and see the bottom of the great pit with their own eyes. However, they are unaware of the harsh reality that constitutes the Abyss's true existence.
