Who is Hatsune Miku?

Hatsune Miku is a Japanese virtual singer developed by Crypton Future Media. She was released on August 31, 2007 as a voice bank for Yamaha's Vocaloid software. Her voice was created from recordings of actress Saki Fujita. Depicted as a 16-year-old girl with light blue hair and long pigtails, Miku became an icon of pop and otaku culture. Her repertoire spans thousands of songs created by fans and independent composers, cementing her place as a global musical phenomenon that transcends borders and artistic genres.
Miku uses voice synthesis technology and holographic projections to perform live concerts, participating in collaborations with artists, video games, and international brands. Her name comes from the combination of "Hatsu" (first), "Ne" (sound), and "Miku" (future). Hatsune Miku has starred in events in Japan, the United States, and other countries, and has even appeared in television programs and advertising campaigns. Her image is licensed by Crypton, but her music is largely created by the community, providing a unique example of collaborative art in the digital age.
