What happened to episode 47 of Kusuriya no Hitorigoto?

It's already Friday and that means many are waiting for a new episode of The Apothecary Diaries, specifically episode 47, corresponding to episode 23 of the second season. However, it turns out that a new episode of the charming Maomao will not premiere this week.

The Apothecary Diaries episode was delayed

To be more specific, a promotional image starring Jinshi was released on June 13th to commemorate the end and premiere of episode 46. It was at that time that a press release confirmed that episode 47 would be delayed by a week. Originally scheduled to air on June 20, The Apothecary Diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) Season 2 Episode 23 is now set to premiere on June 27 in Japan. So fans around the world will have to wait an extra week to see the conclusion of the second season of the Maomao-starring series. It might seem like something easy to digest, just wait a few more days, but episode 46 was very exciting because of the scenes shown and the incredible role that Jinshi had, so we can say that many fans are excited to see what would possibly be the last episode of our beloved Maomao.

What caused the delay of episode 23 of the second season?

At the time of writing, the official accounts for the anime The Apothecary Diaries have only limited themselves to stating that episode 47 will be delayed. Maomao, the daughter of an apothecary, has been torn from her peaceful life and sold to the lowest echelons of the imperial court. Now a mere servant, Maomao adapts to her new worldly life and hides her extensive medical knowledge to avoid any unwanted attention. Shortly after Maomao's arrival, the emperor's young children inexplicably begin experiencing severe symptoms, almost as if a curse had been placed upon them. The curious Maomao easily solves the mystery and, to stay out of the spotlight, attempts to leave an anonymous clue. Unfortunately, the elegant and perceptive eunuch Jinshi notices and manages to uncover it. In recognition of her talent, Maomao is promoted to lady-in-waiting to the emperor's favorite concubine, Gyokuyou. As Maomao remedies the many ailments plaguing the imperial court, her pharmaceutical knowledge soon becomes indispensable.
