Yuri Goes Seinen In This Monster Wants To Eat Me

A press release reported that the manga written and illustrated by Sai Naekawa“This Monster Wants to Eat Me (Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi)”, will have an anime adaptation. The statement listed production details and revealed that the premiere will be sometime in 2025 in Japan.

The author Sai Naekawa shared a special illustration to celebrate this announcementaccompanied by the following comment:

For its part, Sai Naekawa The publication of the manga began through the magazine Dengeki Maoh from the magazine Kadokawa in August 2020. He previously participated in some anthologies such as “Lycoris Recoil: Koushiki Comic Anthology – Reload” and “Watashi no Yuri wa Oshigoto desu! Koushiki Comic Anthology.

Queen Ueda will play the protagonist Hinako Yaotose.
Naoyuki Kuzuya (Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu, Kanojo, Okarishimasu, Sakamoto desu ga?) and Yuusuke Suzuki (Hinako Note, Natsu no Arashi! Akinaichuu, Duel Masters Win) are in charge of directing the anime in STUDIO LINGS.
Mitsutaka Hirota (Hunter x Hunter (2011), Kanojo, Okarishimasu, Seirei Gensouki) is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
Sou Ikuyama (Isekai Meikyuu de Harem wo, Watashi no Yuri wa Oshigoto desu!, Oomuro-ke: Dear Sisters) is in charge of character design and animation direction.
Keiji Inai (Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka?, Btooom!, Tokyo Ravens) is in charge of composing the soundtrack.

Synopsis of This Monster Wants to Eat Me

“I've come to eat you,” that's how softly the mermaid Shiori pronounces when she emerges from the sea and takes Hinako, a high school girl, by the hand. Hinako lives alone in a seaside village and possesses an unusually delicious body that is irresistible to nearby monsters. To ensure that she matures in the best conditions, Shiori tries to protect Hinako, all so that one day she can devour every piece of her. What will become of Hinako's feelings when this unjust death approaches her…?
