The end of Jujutsu Kaisen showed us who Satoru Gojo’s successor is

Jujutsu Kaisen: Who took Satoru Gojo's place after the time jump?
It has been revealed who is Gojo’s successor in Jujutsu Kaisen

After several years of publication, the Jujutsu Kaisen manga came to an end. And so far, it remains one of the most bittersweet, rushed, and unsatisfying conclusions to a manga in recent years. This is because its author wanted to quickly finish the work without taking the time to close the open plots.

Some time later, and thinking about the last compiled volume of the manga, Gege Akutami drew extra pages with content to try to improve the ending a little. And it is thanks to this that we know who Satoru Gojo’s successor is officially.

If we talk about powerful characters with great aura and presence in this work, we must definitely highlight Satoru Gojo. This has been considered the most powerful sorcerer of the modern era and was the strongest of the Special Grade Sorcerers.

In fact, Satoru’s mere existence created a great balance in the world of sorcery, as it made villains hesitate to act and carry out their plans. However, Satoru ran into an enemy even more powerful than him, Sukuna.

Ryomen Sukuna is an extraordinarily strong curse and possibly the most powerful character in the entire franchise. He managed to kill Gojo in their fight, leaving the protagonists without Satoru’s great help.

But after the outcome of this story and having defeated Sukuna, fans were left wondering who would be Gojo’s successor. And the time jump of the manga has given us the answer to this.

Yuta kept his promise to Gojo and took care of everything

In the added content of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, we are shown memories and new scenes of Yuji, Sukuna and other characters. But we are also made clear about what has happened to the Gojo clan after losing Satoru.

This occurs in the scene where we meet Yuta Okkotsu’s descendants, his grandchildren, who are going through their grandfather’s things. In fact, they even find Panda, who has lost almost all of his functionality and has become an inert doll.

This scene also confirms that Yuta Okkotsu has become the acting head of the Gojo clan after Satoru’s death. This implies that he has taken on the responsibility of protecting his beloved master’s clan and preserving it to ensure the stability of the world of sorcery.

This makes all the sense in the world, since, since they met, Satoru Gojo was always clear and direct, thus expressing his trust in Yuta, because he knew that, in his absence, the young man would always be there to protect everyone and bring balance. And everything seems to indicate that Yuta has achieved it.

With this information we can affirm that, indeed, Yuta Okkotu is the one who has had the best future among all the characters that were shown, even surpassing the official protagonist. This shows that Okkotsu has also been Gege Akutami’s favorite protagonist and, in the third season, we will see them facing each other. Many thought that he would also die after having used the Kenjaku technique to switch bodies with Gojo, but that was not the case and, instead, he became the new most powerful sorcerer in the world and the leader of the Gojo clan.

But that’s not all, since we can see that Yuta had a long and prosperous life, as he had children and grandchildren. However, it is not revealed who he started a family with, although fans have immediately speculated that it was with Maki Zenin due to his feelings in the series.

There is a possibility that Yuta and Maki have started a family and, in this way, had grandchildren, who were the children we met in this added content. Definitely a great ending for this protagonist who always showed that he would live up to his teacher’s standards.
