'My Dress-Up Darling' ('Sono Bisque Doll wa koi wo Suru') was one of the most popular anime of 2022, even competing in the top ranks with 'Kimetsu no Yaiba' and 'Shingeki no Kyojin' thanks to the incredible chemistry of its protagonists and its fresh romantic comedy tone.
It is the story of Wakana Gojo, a lonely teenager who dreams of becoming a master craftsman of traditional dolls. When Marin Kitagawaan explosive and popular girl, discovers that she knows how to sew, and recruits him to help her cosplay her favorite characters.
Another round, but a little different
The second season of the anime was announced two years ago, and we are still waiting for news. But while the new episodes arrive, 'My Dress-Up Darling' has a live-action series in the works to re-adapt Shinichi Fukuda's manga.
A first trailer for the series has already been released, which will premiere on Japan's MBS channel next month. October 8thIt is not yet known if we will be able to see it internationally, although it is possible that some streaming platform will be encouraged to do so, just as it happened with the live action of 'Oshi no Ko'.
The main cast of the live action features Riko Nagase and Kota Nomura as Marin and Gojo, respectively. We will also have Akana Ikeda like Sajuna Inui, Kokoro Toyoshima like Shinju Inui, Daichi Shiozaki like Chitose Amano and Meikyo Yamada as Kaoru Gojo. Also revealed were the opening theme song “Princess Hero”, performed by Tokimeki Sendenbu, and the ending theme song “Lovely Baby”, performed by PEDRO.
