These 4 characters deserved more prominence in the anime.
Jujutsu Kaisen, the adaptation of the manga created by Gege Akutami, is one of the most beloved and commented shonen of recent years, both for its fascinating dark fantasy story and for its brilliant cast of main characters. Some of them, like Satoru Gojo or the charismatic Nobara Kugisaki, have managed to win over the public and will be remembered for the great moments they starred in throughout the 2 seasons that make up the series at the moment.
This action anime has been gradually extending its own fictional universe, expanding its story with new story arcs, giving more layers of depth to its protagonists and further increasing the number of secondary characters that have been seen from time to time in the series. Unfortunately, not all of them have had the screen time they really deserved, and in this article we have decided to compile the names of those we consider The most underrated characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime.
The following lines include spoilers from season 1 and 2 of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime.
Toge Inumaki
Toge Inumaki is one of the most beloved Jujutsu Kaisen characters in Japan and one of Yuta Okkotsu's best friends, a character who will have great relevance in the next season. Your participation in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 She is also noteworthy and her cursed technique allows her to attack with her voice and give orders to both her allies and enemies.
With such a powerful technique, many fans ventured to imagine Toge pinning, twisting, or exploding the bodies of several curses at the same time on the streets of Shibuya. However, things were very different: Toge had very little screen time and he did not intervene in any of the most memorable fights of this arc, something especially frustrating when we take into account how useful his technique would have been against certain enemies.
Shoko Ieiri
'The Star Plasma Vessel' is one of the best Jujutsu Kaisen story arcs and was masterfully adapted by MAPPA. In it, beloved characters such as Toji Fushiguro and also served to show us part of Satoru Gojo's student life and the reasons why Suguru Geto ended up becoming one of the most important villains of the entire work.
Unfortunately, Shoko Ieiri did not have much prominence in this arc. Thanks to her, Satoru Gojo learned to use the reverse curse technique that would later end up saving his life, but it would have been a success to have the occasional scene that showed us in detail. How Suguru's decision affected him and what it meant for her to lose such a valuable friendship.
Game
Despite seriously injuring beloved characters like Kento Nanami and destroying part of the Shibuya neighborhood with his impressive volcanic attacks, Jogo is a villain who has managed to win the hearts of many Jujutsu Kaisen fans. Furthermore, he showed plenty of bravery when he dared to fight against Satoru Gojo in the first season and against Ryomen Sukuna in the second, finally losing his life against the latter.
Jogo also stood out for being one of the few villains who really he felt appreciation for his colleagues. When he discovered that Dagon had been exorcised, Jogo unleashed his fury by burning all the sorcerers around him. If Jogo had survived his battle against Sukuna, he would have likely started a new character arc that would include a meticulous plan of revenge against the King of Curses.
Mechamaru/Kokichi
Mechamaru is a secondary character who clearly I could have given more of myself. His battle against Mahito was filled with references to Neon Genesis Evangelion and remains one of the most original in the entire franchise. Additionally, he is one of the few characters to make use of the celestial restriction, which allowed him to store in his body an immense amount of cursed energy in exchange for having a fragile body.
The level of power that Mechamaru demonstrated when facing Mahito caught more than one viewer by surprise. As if this were not enough, Mechamaru also had open a love plot with Kasumi MiwaSatoru Gojo's number 1 fan. In fact, Mechamaru did everything possible to prevent the girl from entering Shibuya, a neighborhood that would end up being invaded by Kenjaku and his allies.
