One Piece has abused fake deaths on several occasions and these are great examples of it
One Piece has a lot of details and positive things going for it. From characters with history and traits that make them feel alivea world in constant construction, a striking story full of mysteries and much more. But it is not a perfect work, since, like others, it has flaws. This is natural and understood.
It is true that many of One Piece’s problems can be subjective, such as the density and number of episodes, animation in the first part, among others. But one that is the most annoying is his tendency to fake character deaths to make an impact on viewers only to have, a few episodes laterthese reappear as if nothing had happened. And we have compiled a list with some of the best examples. Although this does not mean that the series has presented shocking real deaths.
Sabo
Sabo has been involved in two false deaths to date
We start this list with one of the most important characters in the work and Luffy’s last living brother. And these, together with Ace, They became a family when they were children and they lived many adventures. In Sabo’s case, he was a child of nobility who ran away because he hated that life.
The series has presented us with several false deaths of this character. The first was when he was a child and occurred in Luffy’s memory arc. However, it was shown that He survived and was recruited by the Revolutionary Army. Many years later, the series again featured a fake death when Imu destroyed Lulusia. Evidently, he survived that massacre.
pound
Big Mom had many husbands in her desire to create a pirate fleet and unite several kingdoms. One of them was Pound, Chiffon and Lola’s father. This, eventually, when he discovered that Lola was linked to Luffy and his friends, decided to support them in the final stretch of Whole Cake Island.
We originally saw that Oven appeared to have killed Pound after he helped Bege and Chiffon escape. This scene was presented in a sublime and very tragic way. However, it was later revealed that he had “miraculously” survived to be reunited with his daughters. Evidently, this ruined the entire sacrifice scene.
Kanjuro
Kanjuro also had several fake deaths
Kanjuro started out as a new ally of Luffy and his friends, but then he became evident and became one of the most despicable characters, because He was a traitor who served Kaido and Orochi. Throughout the Wano arc, we see that this villain appears to be killed on several occasions, but always returned in an almost miraculous way.
This made viewers would have to spend much more time watching Kanjuro. Fortunately, in the end he was definitely killed, but it took longer than it should have.
Jaguar D. Sau
Now it’s time to talk about Jaguar D. Saul, who is a giant and was once a Navy vice admiral. We met him during Robin’s childhood memories, as he did not agree with the decisions made about the town of Ohara. In the end, we see that he got caught in the Buster Call to save her dear friend, Robin.
This has been one of the most tragic moments in all of One Piece, since it was a great sacrifice so that the little girl could live, go out into the world and meet real friends. However, in Egghead’s arc it is revealed to us that, indeed, he had survived and was waiting for the girl for a nice reunion.
Pell
Pell is a character who should have died
In Alabasta, we met several new characters, such as Pell. This was a main guard in the kingdom and was also an important figure against the Baroque Works organization. This character had a fruit that allowed him to turn into a falcon, and he used this power to ward off an about-to-explode bomb, apparently dying in the process.
Obviously, this moment It was tragic and we all thought he had died.as the bomb exploded and had the potential to destroy an entire city. However, later we learned that he was still alive in a more than miraculous way.
