An important detail that helps Laios detect monsters near him

Dungeons and Dungeons, the official adaptation of the seinen manga created by Ryōko Kui, has been one of the most beloved anime of 2024 and today it is considered one of the best exclusives that Netflix has in its catalog. The good reception it has received from the public has been such that Netflix did not take too long to confirm a second season animated once again by Studio Trigger.
The story of this comedy anime is set in a world full of references to classic medieval fantasy that we can find in many tabletop role-playing games. Like any self-respecting work, Tragones y Dunmorras also has little curiosities that have generated intrigue from more than one viewer, and one of the most interesting has to do with the sword used by the protagonist of the series.

The following lines include spoilers from episode 3 of Dungeons and Dragons.
Why is the sword that Laios Touden uses different from the others?
To clear up this mystery we must remember the episode 3 of Dungeons and Dragons, one of the best rated among fans. In it, Laios discovers that the walking armor inside the dungeon moves thanks to some small mollusks that live in the folds of their metal plates.
Inside the handle of Laios’s sword lives a mollusk capable of detecting monsters
In the final moments of the episode Laios decides to follow Chilchuck’s advice and stay with the sword of one of the walking armors he had defeated. Upon examining it, our protagonist discovers that inside the mango lives a mollusk with bulging eyes. Fascinated, Laios chose to hide this detail from the rest of his companions, thus becoming the owner of this very particular sword.
It didn’t take long for Laios to become fond of this creature, which he ended up calling Kensuke. For his part, Kensuke seems to have a certain appreciation for Laios, although his fearful personality has led him to flee at times, leaving our protagonist completely disassembled.

Kensuke also has the ability to detect certain types of monsters what’s around you. When it detects one, this mollusk begins to rapidly shake the blade of the sword, indicating to Laios that there are enemies nearby.
