This 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of the 'One Piece' anime Toei Animationand to celebrate it the studio is preparing a special episode. Yes, “filler”, because it will not follow the main manga of Eiichiro Odawill focus on several short stories that promise to honor some of the best moments of the entire series.
All over the Grand Line
'One Piece Fan Letter' is based on the anthology of short stories 'One Piece Novel: Mugiwara Stories' by Tomohito Osaki, which shows different aspects of the anime world through other characters.
This special will premiere next October 20, 2024so that day there will not be a regular chapter of 'One Piece'. instead'One Piece Fan Letter' will introduce several short stories with original characters that react to different historical moments in the series such as the marineford war or the arrival of the Straw Hats to the Sabaody Archipelago.
We can expect a total of nine short stories, each focusing on one of Luffy's crew members (except for Jinbe). We will have stories of all kinds: like a member of the Navy who witnessed the Marineford war, the people of Syrup town reacting to the “God Usopp”, a captain who dreams of catching Chopper, or a fan who attended the last big concert of Soul King.
Megumi Ishida, one of the most reputable recent directors in anime will be in charge of directing 'One Piece Fan Letter'. Keisuke Mori will be the character designer and animation director, while Momo Tomoya will adapt the script.
