The anime One Piece is in the middle of the Egghead arc, and should reveal for the first time the voice of an iconic character, six years after his first appearance.
Episode 1117 of One Piece is long overdue: delayed to be able to present a recap on the revolutionaries, it will allow fans to get a little more used to Sabo's new voice after the change of voice actors. But it is especially for the revelation of another voice actor that he is about to do that this new part is expected.
The spectators will indeed be able to discover what really happened during the Reverie: Luffy's brother will find the revolutionary army and tell everything he witnessed, including the death of Nefertari Cobra. While the whole world believes him guilty of the murder of the sovereign, the reality is quite different: it is in a flashback that we should finally witness the conversation between Imu and Cobra. And this will be the first time that fans of One Piece will hear the voice of the mysterious Imu.

His figure has since returned numerous times in the pages of Eiichiro Oda's manga, but few additional details have been provided since. However, the dubbing represents a goldmine of information for fans: we can thus determine the gender and age of a character, but also obtain other details on his personality, according to the pronunciation of certain words and the intentions given by the seiyu (voice actor in Japanese animation).
Of course, fans did not fail to share their enthusiasm on social networks. It is on X that a popular account sharing : “I'm super excited to hear Imu's voice soon, after 6 years we'll finally get our first glimpse of One Piece's main villain.” To which another reputable account answers : “Imagine Toei censoring his voice, or giving him a female voice! (Yes, I know Imu is masculine because of the Japanese suffix 'sei')“
A fan has another idea about Imu's gender reveal in the anime One Piece : “I think the best thing to do would be to make it almost impossible to distinguish gender by recording male and female vocals and mixing them.” But some do not agree: “Not necessarily, they can use a voice and change it when the face is revealed. That's what they did in Naruto with Tobi, when it was said to be Madara, and then a second time when it was revealed to be Obito.“
We'll have to wait until September 1st to discover new details about Imu in episode 1117, but Luffy's story is far from over. While the anime One Piece has yet to feature any highlights of Egghead, the manga has meanwhile begun its journey for the Erbaf arc.
