This Sunday, during a special broadcast held on YouTubeit was revealed that the anime adaptation of the famous manga One Piecewritten and illustrated by Eiichiro Odawill enter a six-month pause period for the first time in its history, starting next October 27. The series is scheduled to return in April 2025.

The main reason behind this pause is that the production team has decided to focus on improving the quality of the animation, with the aim of offering a visual appearance that is on par with the most recent episodes of the franchise.

During this hiatus period, the anime will rebroadcast the Fishman Island Arc (also known as the Fish-Man Island arc), but this time in a remastered and improved version. This new edition will have a significant reduction in episodes, going from the original 51 to only 28, since the filler chapters will be eliminated, which will allow a more dynamic experience that is faithful to the manga's story.

Additionally, a promotional image was revealed for the new edition of the Fishman Island Arc.

It's impressive to think that, after 25 years on the air, the anime One Piece will take a six-month hiatus. The most surprising thing is that this interruption is due to an effort to “improve its quality”, despite the fact that we have recently enjoyed episodes with exceptional direction and animation. More details about this suspension will be announced in the Jump Festa 2025which will take place in December.
