During a special broadcast, the studios Kyoto Animation They announced that the manga written and illustrated by Keiichi Arawi“CITY“, will have an anime adaptation that will be released sometime in 2025 in Japan. This is another of the works of the author of “Nichijou – My Ordinary Life“and it is the studio's first non-sequel production in more than six years.
For its part, Keiichi Arawi The manga began publication through the magazine Morning from the publisher Kodansha in September 2017, and finished it in February 2021 with a total of thirteen compilation volumes. The author also wrote other works such as “Nichijou – My Ordinary Life” and “Helvetica Standard“, which inspired a joint anime adaptation also produced by Kyoto Animation and released in 2011.
Cast of voices
Mikako Komatsu as Midori Nagumoa naive and innocent girl who causes incidents everywhere. Her future dream is to do fun things.
Aki Toyosaki as Niikuraa girl who never stops throwing punches and ends up getting into everything. She says she is a completely normal girl, and her dream is to be a photographer.

Synopsis of CITY
From the creator of Nichijou, this surreal series revolves around a penniless college student, Midori Nagumo, who lives in an ordinary town filled with very ordinary people. And as this reckless girl runs around, she sets the town in motion.
Midori is in a bind. She's in debt and her landlady is trying to kick her out for unpaid rent. Her best friend has refused to lend her money since she caught on to her tricks. Maybe a little bullying will help. Or a little theft? Neither is sustainable. Maybe getting a job would fix things… But working means less time for fun adventures in the big city…
