The manga “Jujutsu No Kaisen,” a fan-created project, has captured the attention of the anime and manga community due to its ambitious goal: to rewrite and, according to its creators, “improve” the official ending of “Jujutsu Kaisen.” This initiative arose in response to criticism from some readers towards the conclusion presented by the author Gege Akutami in the original manga. However, the launch of the first chapter of this project has generated mixed reactions, with negative ones predominating.

According to those responsible, the purpose of “Jujutsu No Kaisen” is to offer an outcome that is more satisfactory for fans, addressing the points that they consider poorly executed in the original work. Criticisms of the end of Akutami include the supposed poor execution of Satoru Gojo's death, the lack of development or abandonment of multiple plots, and the waste of certain characters. In response, a group of followers decided to capture their own vision of the story in this fan manga, which takes up the events from Gojo's defeat at the hands of Ryomen Sukuna and his conversation in the afterlife with Suguru Geto.
Despite the initial enthusiasm, the first chapter of the project has been harshly criticized. Some point to problems such as the poor characterization of key characters such as Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo, the introduction of a new ability for Sukuna – when many already considered Akutami to have made him too powerful – and dialogue that lacks the characteristic essence of Jujutsu Kaisen. Additionally, accusations have emerged that the art was generated with artificial intelligence, although this has not been confirmed.
Another point of controversy is the timing of this fan manga's release, shortly after Akutami revealed in the latest volume of “Jujutsu Kaisen” that he faced serious mental health issues while working on the series. Although projects like this are not intended to be a direct attack on the author, some fans have perceived the initiative as a lack of respect for their work and personal situation.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that a fandom has taken these types of measures. Similar projects have emerged in communities from series such as “Attack on Titan” and “KonoSuba.” However, in the case of “Jujutsu No Kaisen”, many believe that it fails to overcome or solve the criticisms of the original ending.
Despite the division it has caused in the community, fans are free to interpret the story however they wish. However, it is important to remember that this type of project does not alter or replace the official completion of the work, and will likely continue to be the subject of debate in the coming days.
