The statement included a variety of comments by the members of the production:
- Comment by Taku Kimura (director)
- About your participation in the project: When my participation in the work was confirmed, I realized that this year 30 years (At the end of 2024), so I am practically of the same generation as Pokémon, which celebrates its 29th anniversary. When I heard that I could work in something so close to me from childhood, I felt excited and surprised, but at the same time, I couldn't believe it at all. Initially, the project was smaller scale, but as we developed it, it grew to become a key piece of the Pokémon Day. At first I felt nerves and pressure, but thanks to the team, which managed to capture it in an incredible animation, the emotion ended up overcoming any concern.
- Aspects in which he focused: I wanted to clearly represent two types of Pokémon this time. First, those who work in the Post Office and have a harmonious relationship with humans. And second, the wild Pokémon who live in their natural habitat, in herdas and with total vitality. Portraying a large number of Pokémon in animation was a challenge, but we decided to address it without evading the difficulty.
- Outstanding scenes: If I had to choose, I would say that all scenes (laughs), but without a doubt the dragonite flight sequence is unmissable. Among them, there is a scene in which Kyogre appears. From the beginning they gave us the freedom to include legendary Pokémon, so I proposed illustrations with Kyogre and others in the Image Boards. Finally, the Nana screenwriter incorporated them into the script, so I struggled a lot in that part. Kyogre has the drizzle ability, and thanks to the work of Comix Wave Films, the animation of the rain was spectacular. It is a beautiful scene that is worth seeing carefully.
- Message for fans: As it is the 29th anniversary, we did everything possible to include Pokémon from various series. The story also has a special approach: it begins in the Paldea region and is going back in time through the different generations. Thanks to this, no matter what delivery you met Pokémon, you can enjoy the work. There are also many Easter Eggs, so I hope you see it several times.
- Comment by Kentau Nana (screenwriter)
- About your participation in the project: I was born in 1990 and I was about six years old when red and green Pokémon left. For me, Pokémon was always like a childhood friend. So when I had the opportunity to work on this project, I felt it as a dream come true: “Working with my childhood friend in my adult life is an incredible honor!”
- Aspects in which he focused: I wanted this story to reflect the richness and joy of a world inhabited by Pokémon, transmitting the feeling of “how beautiful it would be to live in a world with Pokémon.” In addition, in Comix Wave Films we are known for our way of representing landscapes and environments, so I tried to take advantage of that strong point to highlight the beauty of the Pokémon world in the narrative.
- Outstanding scenes: Kyogre's scene is one of the most shocking visually, thanks to Kimura's image Boards. We decided to include it in a moment of great emotion within history, and Kimura added a spectacular direction. I hope the public enjoys it a lot. We also had the honor of having the music of Evan Call, an international recognition composer. In a meeting with Kimura, he was told that a sound was sought with a film air, and the result was a perfect soundtrack. In addition, SUIS's vocal interpretation is impressive, raising the work 10 or 100 times more with his music. I recommend you pay special attention to the combination of animation and soundtrack.
- Message for fans: As a Pokémon fan, I set out to create a work that would reflect what I always wanted to see in Pokémon. I hope the followers enjoy it as much as me. Although it is a short film, the whole team did it with the intention of having the impact of a film. There are scenes that are really appreciated on a large screen, so if someone wants to see it in cinema, do not hesitate to send a message to The Pokémon Company! (laughs).
