Although animes often introduce filler to lengthen the series, these often catch up to the manga, which sometimes means that both productions will tell a very different story. This is what happened with the first anime of 'Fullmetal Alchemist', one of the great mangas of the last decades which had its redemption with the second (and definitive) series 'Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood'.
This second series of the manga was the one that managed to hook the public throughout its 64 episodes. Although it is available on some streaming platforms such as Netflix, it was not until a few months ago when it arrived on a physical and definitive edition; a collector's edition packed with details that can be purchased at the Selecta Vision online store.
Already available, but not so much
The collector's edition of 'Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood' is available in the Selecta Visión online store at a price of 249 eurosBut not all that glitters is gold, as the series is released quarterly with a total of three volumes:
- Volume 1: was launched on June 28th.
- Volume 2: will be released on August 30th.
- Volume 3: no confirmed date, but expected to arrive at the end of October.
The so-called “subscription” brings together the three volumes in a collector's edition, and for each of them we find an exclusive gift:
- Contents of volume 1: collector's box, a coin with Flamel's symbol and a Philosopher's Stone.
- Contents of volume 2: Wristband with the Blood Rune symbol.
- Contents of volume 3: Edward's watch and a final box with exclusive gifts.
In addition, this edition features an exclusive art book, a map of Amestris, and Roy Mustang's gloves.
The edition, arriving in three volumes, is not the only one we can find in the store, since each volume can be purchased separately (at the moment the first one is already available at a price of 89.99 euros and the second one can be reserved for 79.99 euros). Yes indeed, They are editions that have very limited unitsIn fact, as we write these lines, the complete collector's edition has only 100 units.
And why is it a definitive edition? Beyond the content and the gifts, we are talking about a definitive version because, finally, you can see the series in a physical edition in High Definition (1080p) with 16:9 image format and with audio in VO (Japanese subtitled), although also It comes with Spanish dubbing.
'Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood' became one of the great animes of the time for many reasons. The series takes us to meet Edward and Alphonse Elrica pair of siblings who attempt to revive their mother through alchemy. On their journey to obtain information about the so-called Philosopher's Stones, they encounter a war that has been brewing in the shadows for a long time and is about to break out.
