The person behind this work is Shen Yuhao, originally from Zhejiang province, who built the house on the Yun Duo farm, located in the city of Huzhou. Shen’s goal was not only to pay tribute to his favorite anime, but also to boost local tourism in his hometown.

After graduating from university, Shen returned home to start a business as an agricultural creator and take over the family sheep farm. Inspired by the idea of transforming his town into a tourist spot, he devised the plan to build the Nohara house. Shen and his creative team, all “Crayon Shin-chan” fans, conceived the project during casual conversations while working overtime.

In order to professionally realize this idea, the team made several visits to the exclusive licensing agency of “Crayon Shin-chan” in Shanghai to obtain the necessary permits for construction. Thanks to the collaboration of the copyright holders, they received detailed reference materials, allowing them to replicate each element accurately. From the ceiling to the furniture, everything was custom made, which led to the total cost exceeding the initial budget.

Shen expressed his gratitude towards his mother, who provided unconditional financial support to realize his dream. «Fortunately, my mother supported me unconditionally, allowing me to secure the initial funds to realize this dream.», he commented. In addition, the local government supported the project by improving access roads to the farm and incorporating the Nohara house into a broader tourist route in the village.

A local official noted: “Shen’s vision as part of the young generation is truly admirable. But I never thought I would actually build the Nohara house». Shen’s plans don’t end here. Once his business stabilizes, he plans to build a replica of the Futaba Kindergarten where Shin-chan attends in the anime, and even dreams of recreating Kasukabe City as a full-scale tourist attraction.
