The anticipation for a second season of the “No Game No Life” anime has been palpable for more than a decade. However, because of this it is increasingly common to see false leaks on the Internet claiming that the production of a sequel is already in progress. Eventually some of these fake leakers will blindly guess and take some credit for “telling the truth,” but so far none have been successful.

And as if Internet users never learned from their mistakes, they were fooled again by one of these false leaks. This time it came from “@/tokei3n”, a Japanese user who usually shares alleged leaks of anime projects with the aim of getting interactions and monetizing his publications. Perhaps what convinced Internet users is that it was an account in Japanese, but the community notes did not take long and the user deleted his account after going viral.

But that’s not all, apparently hundreds (or maybe thousands) of fans of the franchise did what should not be done: went to ask the author if the leak was true. Obviously this is something that should never be done, firstly because this could expose the leaker and future publications they make, but mainly because it is unconfirmed information.

Obviously the author was visibly upset with these people, and updated his official Twitter account writing: «Good morning. When I woke up, I found an absurd amount of direct messages, but honestly, it’s a false rumor. I would appreciate it if you didn’t write to me to ask about that.».
