Demon Slayer is everywhere. While Crunchyroll is streaming new episodes of season 4, Netflix is offering a catch-up session with season 3. And what's next? Apparently, no season 5 is planned. Instead, it's a trilogy of films that is coming to theaters.
While Crunchyroll is simulcasting the excellent season 4 of Demon Slayer who adapts the bow Pillar training of the manga by Koyoharu Gotōge, season 3 has just been put online on Netflix. An addition that was clearly highly anticipated, since this production of ufotable – which dates back to spring 2023, is now ranked No. 2 of the most viewed series of the moment.
No season 5 but a trilogy for Demon Slayer ?
A success that reminds us to what extent this work from the Weekly Shōnen Jump has become a must-see in recent years, and could soon extend… to the cinema. Indeed, four years after a very successful first experience with the film The infinity train which adapted the eponymous arc, the producers would be ready to try the adventure again. And not for just any plot.
Unlike My Hero Academia who has made a habit of arriving at the cinema with new stories regarding his manga, ufotable would have the ambition to adapt the arc The Final Battle which, as the title suggests, is none other than the very last of Tanjiro's adventures. The twist? While this one extends from chapters 137 to 205, the studio should therefore to do without a potential season 5 to stage everything through a… trilogy of films !
