As confirmed by Speed himself in his last live broadcast, his channel has been included in a “white list” by Toei Animation, which means that it will be able to broadcast any episode of the animefrom iconic battles like Luffy vs Arlong to the exciting Luffy vs Enel showdown. This agreement is unique, since No other streamer, YouTube content creator, or influencer has received this type of privilege from Toei Animation.a company known for its strict copyright protection.
Toei Animation has faced criticism in the past for its aggressive handling of copyright against content creators who include material from their works in analysis, reactions or fan art. A well-known case is that of YouTuber TotallyNotMark, who suffered multiple claims that seriously affected his channel. However, this new deal with IShowSpeed could mark a significant change in the relationship between Western content creators and major Japanese anime production companies.
IShowSpeed has been a well-known “One Piece” fan for years. With more than 1,122 episodes watched, the streamer has not only dedicated himself to enjoying the story of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hats, but has also shown his appreciation in multiple ways, such as buying a Luffy trading card in Gear 5 for $10,000, making streams reacting to key moments from the anime, and even cosplaying as Luffy himself at events.
The impact of “One Piece” on Speed's personal life is also significant. During the 2020 quarantine, Speed confessed that Eiichiro Oda's work helped him overcome a deep depression. On one occasion, when asked if he preferred Cristiano Ronaldo or Luffy, he responded that Luffy “saved his life.”

What does this agreement mean?
The announcement has generated great expectations among Speed followers and One Piece fans. Although broadcasting all the episodes consecutively would be a herculean task, requiring more than 400 hours of transmission (almost 19 days without interruptions), Speed is likely to organize marathons in parts, attracting a large audience to its channel.
Additionally, this deal could open up new possibilities for other content creators to collaborate with big companies like Toei. Interviews with staff, access to exclusive clips or creative collaborations could become a reality, marking a new era in the way fans interact with anime.
Toei Animation's gesture in working with IShowSpeed shows recognition of the growing impact of Western content creators on the global popularity of anime. Beyond the privilege granted to Speed, this could be the first step towards a more collaborative relationship between Japanese production companies and international fans.
