The last big secret? They discover a new mystery in Red Dead Redemption 2 after 7 years
More than seven years after its original launch in 2018, the community of Red Dead Redemption 2 has been stunned by the discovery of a new and complex puzzle. Baptized as the “Mystery of the Spider Dream” (Spider Dream Mystery). This discovery has unleashed a race against the clock among players, who hope to solve it before the release of GTA 6.
The cobwebs that appear at dawn
What makes this mystery so difficult to detect is its extreme dependence on in-game time. Players have noticed that certain webs only manifest during very narrow time windows during the night. It is located on a telephone pole near Cornwall Kerosene & Tarwhich has a carved spider and a web with a feather on top.
Most spider webs only appear between 2:00 – 3:00 AM or the 3:00 – 4:00 AM. There is a larger spider web that appears earlier, between the 1:00 – 2:00 AMand that together with the post forms the letter “N”.
Following the trail of registrations
The mystery is not only visual, but interactive. By following the initial carving prompts, players have discovered that they can shoot certain posts to reveal hidden messages. After shooting a specific post, the letter is revealed “W” accompanied by a symbol of five telephone poles.
When you move five posts west and fire again, the acronym appears “NW” next to what appears to be the symbol of a guitar. Following the northwest direction leads players to a guitar in Fort Wallace or towards Spider Gorgebut so far, the track has gone cold and no additional events have been activated.
Real secret or deleted content?

Although the trail is fascinating and the name “spiderdream” has been confirmed in the game files, there is great concern in the community. Many fear that these clues are simply removed content (cut content) that Rockstar Games left in the code without a final resolution.
Despite this, community leaders like the YouTuber Strange Man They urge mystery hunters not to give up. The goal is to close this chapter of RDR2 before attention completely diverts to the release of GTA 6 in November 2026.
Shadowhunters or a real secret?

The discovery of the “Mystery of the Spider's Dream” is a testament to the almost infinite depth that Rockstar Games put into its masterpiece. That players continue to find events tied to such specific times and internal file names like “spiderdream” seven years after launch explains why this title remains the standard for open worlds. The community is now racing against the clock to connect the final dots before global attention turns to the release of GTA 6 in November 2026.
It seems we are facing a fascinating case of removed content who left his fingerprints on the final code. While the inscriptions of “N,” “W,” and the guitar symbol are tangible clues, the fact that the trail stops so abruptly at Fort Wallace suggests that the quest was not completed by the developers. However, the possibility of a version of next generation of RDR2 opens a door of hope: perhaps Rockstar will finally decide to activate the outcome of this web of mysteries for the most loyal fans.
Do you think this is a genuine secret that Rockstar kept for us to find years later, or just a “ghost” of something that never was? We want to read your theories in the comments!
