15 million printed copies

The author of the romantic comedy manga My Dress-Up Darling (Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru), Shinichi Fukudaannounced a few hours ago that his work managed to surpass the incredible figure of 15 million copies in circulation.

This announcement was made known on his account. X/Twitter official. In addition, it was accompanied by a special illustration, as well as a few words of gratitude to the fans for their support of the franchise.

Something to highlight is that the 15 million printed copies that the manga My Dress-Up Darling takes into account all the compilation volumes that the publisher square enix has launched.

Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo surualso known as My Dress-Up Darlingis a romantic comedy manga written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda. The work began its publication in the magazine Young Gangan from the publisher square enix since January 2018, reaching its end on March 21, 2025. The publisher square enix compiled the manga Shinichi Fukuda in 15 volumes in total.

The anime adaptation of the manga Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo suru It began broadcasting on Japanese television on January 8, 2022. The series was made up of a total of 12 episodes and its second season is currently broadcast.

The animation studio CloverWorks was in charge of its production. The anime is available legally in Latin America through the platform Crunchyroll and has its respective dubbing into Latin Spanish.

Synopsis of My Dress-Up Darling:

Wakana Gojou is a high school student who dedicates his days to perfecting the delicate art of making hina dolls. His hope is to one day reach his grandfather's level of mastery. While most of his classmates entertain themselves with other, more common pastimes of youth, Gojou finds solace and joy in sewing traditional costumes in silence.

But his world takes an unexpected turn when he meets Marin Kitagawa, an outgoing, self-confident classmate with overflowing energy. Everything about her seems opposite to Gojou: she is sociable, popular, and not afraid to show who she is. Against all logic, Marin becomes interested in Gojou's sewing skills. This happens when she catches him secretly working in the home economics room. Then, with complete naturalness, he reveals his own hobby: cosplay.

With zero talent for sewing but a huge passion for dressing up as her favorite characters, Marin asks Gojou to help bring her dream outfits to life. As they collaborate on creating costumes one after another, they both begin to discover that they have more in common than they imagined. What begins as an unlikely collaboration soon transforms into a connection that will change their lives. Although they come from completely different worlds, the differences do not seem to be an obstacle.
