While awaiting the release of its second season, fans of Sousou no Frieren are eagerly awaiting any news about the show. One of the most recent developments comes in the form of new official illustrations released by the franchise through various official media outlets. These have a judicial theme and feature two of the most beloved female characters: Frieren herself and Aura the Guillotine. To stylize themselves with this aforementioned theme, we see them dressed as a judge and a defendant, respectively.
Frieren and Aura are illustrated in curious situations
Through official media, and as part of the “Sunday Cultural Festival 2025”, the Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey's End) franchise shared these illustrations. This year's theme for the event is “racing experience”, so several characters were illustrated with different jobs. In this case, we see the same protagonist of the work, the elf Frieren, as a judge. Meanwhile, on the other hand, there is the villain Aura the Guillotine, who is the accused and is even behind a wooden dais.
The original campaign was carried out by Weekly Shonen Sunday, where Sousou no Frieren has been published since 2020. The decision to illustrate both of them in this situation corresponds to what was seen in the series. Aura has a strong connection in her power with justice, so seeing her alongside Frieren in this situation will delight fans. As part of the campaign, we also see Ran Mori from Detective Conan as a teacher and Albus from Kaiten no Albus as a florist.
