Bandai Namco has officially announced that Shallot, the original protagonist of the mobile game Dragon Ball Legends, will be coming to Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero as a downloadable character. His addition to the title is scheduled for June 26, 2025. However, those who want to try him out first will be able to access him through early access available from June 23. This release marks the first time Shallot has appeared as a playable character in a console game. It is the first time he has been seen outside of the mobile environment.

Unlike other add-on content, Shallot will be available as a standalone character. This means he won't be part of the upcoming Dragon Ball Z DLC pack or included in the Season Pass. This strategy allows more interested players to add him to their roster without purchasing unwanted add-on content. To support this decision, Bandai Namco released an official trailer showcasing his gameplay, attacks, and in-game fights.
The trailer reveals several notable fights where Shallot faces off against Nappa, Ginyu, and Frieza. These are characters with whom he maintains a certain connection in Dragon Ball Legends, the game in which he debuted in May 2018. This title, exclusive to mobile devices, is still running today. In addition, it has had a solid fan base since its launch. Shallot has been, from the beginning, the main face of that installment. However, until now he had not appeared in any console titles or in main productions of the franchise.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero keeps adding
As for the revealed gameplay, it can be seen that the character makes use of classic Saiyan powers. These powers are combined with fast and forceful Ki attacks. A second pack was later released focusing on characters from Dragon Ball Daima, the latest reimagining of the series with alternate, younger versions of classic characters.
